Donald Trump needs to thank Ted Cruz for taking the attention away from Melania Trump's plagiarism scandal

Donald Trump (the Donald) needs to thank Ted Cruz (Texan Ted) for taking the attention away from Melania Trump’s plagiarism scandal.

Before Cruz gave his non-endorsement speech of Donald Trump, all eyes were on Melania Trump.

Following her speech, it was quickly revealed that she did not write the speech but that portions of the speech were taken from Mrs. Obama’s 2008 convention speech.

The Trump campaign spent a good two days denying the obvious. They blamed everything and everybody from the common words used in the English language to it being a Hillary Clinton conspiracy.

And then Trump organization speechwriter Meredith McIver decided to stand up and say, “I’s guilty.” In fact, she was so guilty that she offered the Donald her resignation.

Being the “upstanding” fella that he is, the Donald respectfully declined and left his emotionally bruised and battered speechwriter in her place.

The Federal Elections Commission (FEC) decided to take notice of the fact that the Donald allowed business and politics to mix.

According to a report from NBC News’ Katy Tur, the FEC has decided to investigate the matter in order to determine if any election laws were broken.

However, all of this good juicy news was shoved under the door after Texan Ted gave his speech on Wednesday night.

It was a speech in which Texan Ted endorsed everything and everyone from the Constitution, the voters’ conscience, the Republican Party, to the American people.

Texan Ted told the not so happy Trump crowd, “And I urge you to vote your conscience. Vote for candidates up and down the ballots.”

The Trump voters’ response to Texan Ted were boos and heckling of the man’s poor wife, Heidi Cruz.

As for the Donald’s reaction to all of this whoshawjohn, he calmly insinuated that he had solace in the fact that the Texan would never be what he, the Donald, is.

And what Texan Ted will never be is the Republican Party presidential nominee.

The Donald tweeted, “Wow, Ted Cruz got booed off the stage, didn’t honor the pledge! I saw his speech two hours early but let him speak anyway. No big deal!”

Yeah, “No big deal!” because the Donald is the Republican Party presidential nominee while Texan Ted is just Texan Ted.

And the fact that all the chit chat in the news and on the blogs was about Texan Ted and not Melania Trump’s plagiarism is why I say the Donald should say, “THANK YA,” to the Texan for being what the Donald said that the FBI and U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch were to Hillary Clinton, which is the shade covering her “email scandal.”
