Joe Scarborough warns the GOP about using Trump and Clinton's relationship as an excuse for their problems
by Nathan'ette Burdine: June 21, 2016

Joe Scarborough warned Republicans not to use Donald (the Donald) Trump’s past relationship with Hillary (the Hills) Clinton as the reason why they are unable to control their troubled spawn, the Donald.

During last Thursday’s airing of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Scarborough told everyone sitting around the table that it will be “very easy” for Republicans to say that the Donald is beyond help because he’s really the Hills’ wing man.

Scarborough said, “This is very easy to say, hey guess what, this guy not only contributed to Hillary Clinton’s last presidential campaign in 2008 as a Democrat, he’s contributing to this Hillary Clinton presidential campaign making certain that she will be elected president.”

Scarborough’s comment was in response to the discussion he, former RNC Chairman Michael Steele, and the other guest were having about the best ways to tame the Donald. Due to the failure of the other 16 presidential candidates to give the Donald some “act right,” Steele asked Scarborough if there is anyone in the party who can “counterpunch” and put the Donald in his place.

Scarborough responded that Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell are able to control Trump but that they are unwilling to get Trump in line.

Scarborough said, “Two names that need to stand up right now, today, with their entire group behind them, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. They are the highest ranking Republicans in America and they need to stand up.”

Scarborough said that Ryan and McConnell missed their opportunity, last week, to check Trump after he went on a rant about the federal judge, Gonzalo Curiel, who is presiding over the case against the now defunct Trump University.

Scarborough warned that “Trump’s only getting worse, every day” and that the Republicans need to find a way to quickly get him in line.

Because if the GOP continues to allow Trump to be “Trump,” then the GOP will find themselves locked out of the White House and without the Senate.
