Actor Luke Perry passed away today at the age of 52. Luke Perry’s rep, Arnold Robinson, said Luke Perry was surrounded by his fiancé, children, ex-wife, mother, step-father, and siblings.

The Hollywood Reporter quoted Robinson as saying, “The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning.”

Last Wednesday, Perry was rushed to the hospital after suffering from a stroke. TMZ reported that Perry was able to speak to the paramedics soon after they arrived at his home. After Perry became unresponsive, the paramedics rushed him to the hospital where he, according to TMZ, was placed in a medically induced coma. An official cause of death has yet to be determined.

Perry is best known for his role as Dylan McKay in Fox’s 1990s hit TV show Beverly Hills, 90210 , and as Archie Andrews’ (K.J. Apa) dad Fred Andrews on the CW's show Riverdale .

Due to Perry’s passing, the Riverdale producers have decided to halt production on the show.

A statement from the show’s executive producers, Warner Bros. and the CW Family is posted on the show’s official Twitter page.

One of Perry’s last appearances on screen will be alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Dakota Fanning, and Brad Pitt in Quentin Tarantino’s movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which is scheduled to hit theaters this summer on July 26, 2019.
