Dolly Parton did the right thing by not letting Elvis Presley record "I Will Always Love You"

I always knew that Ms. Dolly Parton being a down home country girl who is a natural born genius is why I respect her so.

Case in point, only a down home country girl who is a natural born genius would have sense enough to know that Elvis Presley would not have been good for her music writing business.

Elvis Presley;

“He wanted to record “I Will Always Love You.” He loved the song and was gonna record it. I had my own publishin’ company, and as the writer I wouldn’t give Colonel Tom Park the song, because I didn’t want to start doin’ that-you know leavin’ myself open-because then everybody would record it,” is what Ms. Dolly told the folks over at Interview Magazine.

And that there, everybody recording “I Will Always Love You,” would not have made it possible for this here.

She could sing. Good God, that woman could sing! And thank God Ms. Dolly Parton can write such beautiful lyrics for such a beautiful voice to sing.

Before I forget, Happy 75th birthday Ms. Dolly. I sho' do thank the Lawd for you and the beautiful music you be writing.
