Harvey Weinstein's lawyer's
defense of him is he didn't
invent the casting couch
by Nathan'ette Burdine: May 27, 2018

Harvey Weinstein’s lawyer, 69-year-old Benjamin Brafman, told folks that Harvey Weinstein is not guilty of sexually harassing and raping anybody because “Mr. Weinstein did not invent the casting couch in Hollywood.”

Mm-hmm, that’s what 66-year-old Weinstein’s 69-year-old lawyer said. Hm. The only problem with all of this is that Brafman is admitting that Weinstein did commit a crime when he, Brafman, acknowledges the infamous “casting couch” that the heavy hitters in Hollywood use in order to get them “some.”

And Weinstein has been accused by everybody from models to big name actresses like Angelina Jolie of trying to get him “some.”

The accusations against Nasty Harvey range from him grabbing women’s breasts, trying to place his hand in their “pocket books,” to him playing with himself in front of the women folks.

Brafman tried dismissing what is increasingly looking like his client’s “guilty as homemade sin” behavior by saying that what his client did was bad but not criminal.

Here’s what the lawyer said, “My job is not to defend behavior. My job is to defend something that is criminal behavior. Bad behavior, uhm, Mr. Weinstein did not invent the casting couch in Hollywood. And to the extent that there is bad behavior in that industry, that is not what this is about.”

Now, I must agree that not all bad behavior is criminal. Take for instance a little boy telling his mama he isn’t cleaning up his nasty room. That is bad behavior because it is disrespectful. You do what mama tells you to do.

Having said that, a little boy refusing to clean his nasty room isn’t the same as a grown man jacking off in front of a woman and pulling a Trump by forcibly grabbing a woman by her pussy.

I know y’all remember what then sixty some-year-old Donald Trump told Billy Bush in that Access Hollywood Tape: “And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything…Grab them by the pussy.” Mm-hmm, that’s what ol’ Donald John said to George W. Bush’s little cousin Billy.

But y’all see, rich and famous folks like Donald Trump, Harvey Weinstein, and Bill Cosby believe their wealth and fame allows them to do anything like sexually harassing and or raping a woman.

Their fame is the protective light shielding them from the darkness they bring upon themselves.

But like everything that is being consumed by a lot of darkness, that light goes dim; just ask Bill Cosby.

Cosby admitted to drugging and raping Andrea Constand. Hell, even former Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor said that he believed Bill Cosby did all that Andrea Constand said he did because Bill Cosby admitted to doing it.

The only reason Castor didn’t charge Cosby is because he didn’t have enough evidence to win the case in court.

So, Castor did the next best thing which was to let Bill Cosby tell on himself. Welp, that led to Cosby being found guilty of drugging and raping Constand.

And now, Weinstein faces the same possible fate. Like Cosby, Weinstein admitted to doing criminal wrong.

A model named Ambra Battilana accused Harvey Weinstein of trying to get into her “pocket book.”

Battilana said that Weinstein invited her to his Manhattan office where, after arriving, he grabbed her breasts and reached under her skirt to put his fingers into her “pocket book.”

Luckily for her, she escaped and immediately reported the incident to the New York Police Department.

During a recorded conversation with the NYPD, Weinstein admitted to touching Battilana.

The Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., told Martha Bushford, who is chief of the DA’s sex crime unit, to drop that case. And he told her to drop it after Weinstein’s lawyer, David Boies, gave Vance $10,000 to go towards his re-election campaign.

Oh yeah, before I forget, Vance is also the fella who decided not to prosecute Ivanka and Don Jr. for allegedly committing real estate fraud after none other than Michael Cohen gave Vance $31,000. Yup, that Vance fella is dirtier than a swamp possum’s ass.

But, he’s still on the job. As a matter of fact, he had the nerve to send out this tweet, “Thanks to the brave survivors who have come forwards, our office’s tireless prosecutors, and our dedicated partners at @NYPDNews. We urge additional survivors and others with relevant information to call us at 212-335-9373. #HarveyWeinstein.”

That’s what Vance tweeted after taking $10,000 from Weinstein’s former lawyer in order to get rid of a case that would have stopped Weinstein from making more women sexual assault victims than Ford makes trucks.

Now, I have to say that Vance, Weinstein, Weinstein’s former lawyer, and Cohen all say none of them gave Vance any money to get rid of any of their client’s cases. That’s what they all say.

But, the truth is in the jello pudding and that jello pudding is going to make Weinstein pop.

That’s why Brafman had that “uhm,” pause right before he said “Mr. Weinstein did not invent the casting couch in Hollywood” because he’s heard the tapes! Brafman knows that like Trump and Cosby, Weinstein has made secret tell it all and right guard turn left.

And just like Cosby in the end, it will be Weinstein’s own words that do him in.

Welp, sucks for him! Muthafucka!
